Campaign #1 – June 22, 2009
G. Ross Lord Park & Yonge & Lawrence
This is where it all begins. Our first campaign for dark leafy greens of the summer! We started out at G. Ross Lord Park near Thornhill-now that's one heck of a park! We zipped around the various playgrounds and met up with a loads of health conscious runners/ joggers. When we stopped them in their tracks and they seemed to take a real fancy to our Cookin' Greens brand. We then headed over to the lovely Yonge & Lawrence neighborhood and made our mark at this sweet and very busy play ground. We then took a our 8ft Cookin' Greens banner right onto the sidewalks of Yonge Steet - sharing the Cookin' Greens message with many zipping by on there way....somewhere. We received lots of compliments on our Cookin’ Greens Spinach, Kale and Couscous chilled salad Toby had prepared to enjoy on the run! Remember, there are so many more recipes to make with Cookin’ Greens so check out the recipes section of our website for more easy to make delicious ideas!
Three cheers for Campaign #1 and a special thanks to our fabulous Cookin’ Greens street team.

Cedarvale Ravine, Forest Hill Village & Spadina and Lonsdale

Our second campaign for dark leafy greens this summer took us to Cedarvale Ravine around the beautiful St Clair and Spadina neighborhoods and then over to a quaint 'in' spot called 'The Village' on Spadina Road. We got some lovin' from lots furry 4 legged friends and shared our Cookin' Greens Quinoa chilled salad with their owners and the many pet walkers – moms and kids in the playgrounds and on the city streets really showed their interest in Cookin’ Greens and liked receiving the recipe card handouts we provide along the way. Campaign #2 was really fun and brought Cookin' Greens attention to many future customers!! Three cheers for Campaign #2 and special thanks to our fabulous Cookin’ Greens street team!!
  Campaign #3 – July 4, 2009
The Annex, Bloor and Spadina to Bloor and Christie

On the 4th of July, The Cookin' Greens Summer Street Team caused a real "brouhaha" in the historic area of downtown Toronto called "The Annex" to us locals. (A special 'hats-off' acknowledgement to the Mirvish Family). We made our way from Bloor and Spadina to Bloor and Christie. At Christie Pits park we partook in a Cookin' Greens singalong and went to the playground with the locals. Then we stumbled upon a Flashdance Bachelorrette party that wanted to use Cookin' Greens as part of the festivities (yes, we captured a photo of this - see photo gallery). We stopped by Sobey's Urban Fresh, P.A.T. Central and Bloor Super Fresh stores and caused a stir.

The crew then shifted gears and made our way to another classic Toronto neighborhood called Kensington Market. We took in all the sights and sounds and got the locals and nutritious consious folks singing our green tune. We stopped by Tutti Fruity and Essence of Life Organics and felt the real Kensington vibe.

  Campaign #4 – July 5, 2009
The Beaches, Queen St. East between Woodbine and Lee & Kew Gardens

On the 5th of July, we stopped by one of Toronto's most "nichey" neighbourhoods: "The Beaches" and we definately painted the Beaches green. We chatted with many local 'beach-heads' who are already big rapini and kale fans and were so happy that it was now available pre-chopped, pre-washed and flash frozen- ready whenever they are! We walked through Kew Gardens and made our way to the fantastic beach and boardwalk. We then made our way to the fabulous retail store "Meat on the Beach" and picked up some fresh fruit and some yummy Cookin' Greens to make some more Cookin' Greens Quinoa salad which was definitely a hit with the locals.
Campaign #5 – August 8, 2009
Yorkville and St. Lawrence Market

The Cookin' Greens™ 2009 Summer Street Team - Campaign for Dark-Leafy Greens lead by the marketing guru-in-the-making Eric Lifson, has been making a buzz all summer long around the GTA. Our August 8th campaign was so fun we hit historic Yorkville and St. Lawrence Market. We are happy to announce an increase in distribution, as we are now being carried in Whole Foods Markets (www.wholefoodsmarket.com) and Longo's (www.longos.com)! The people spoke out and asked for Cookin' Greens™, and apparently some of those savvy buyers are listening ...and to them we say THANK-YOU! Check our regularly updated Store Locator to find the retail outlet nearest to you that now carries Cookin’ Greens ™. We made our way to 'The Rock' on Cumberland, hit up The Cookbook Store (www.cook-book.com) and Kitchen & Glass Place at Yonge & Yorkville and then made our way to the ROM (ya gotta love that funky new addition to that historic building...) After that, we took the Cookin' Greens™ street party to St. Lawrence Market (www.stlawrencemarket.com) on Front St. East and checked ourselves out at the Sobeys Urban Fresh (www.sobeys.com) store on Front St. East. We had a blast as did all those that encountered the Street Team and had a chance to chat it up with us and sample some of our yummy chilled Cookin' Greens™ salads –Toby prepared a selection for this campaign; Cookin’ Greens & Couscous and Cookin’ Greens with Pasta Noodles – the kids loved the pasta, and yes both were prepared with a hint of garlic, chopped sundried tomatoes and crumbled feta – this is truly The New Fast Food™.
Campaign #6 – August 16, 2009
Queen Street West and Harbourfront

The Cookin’ Greens Summer Street Team made a ruckus across trendy Queen Street West and then painted Harbourfront Green. We came across lots of colourful characters and saw firsthand the international flavour of Toronto. We saw everyone from bagpipe players to Moroccan people from India and Switzerland. They all had something in common. They loved our Greens. They all knew the health benefits of eating dark leafy greens! We stopped by some of the fine retailers that sell Cookin’ Greens, including Sobeys Urban Fresh on Harbourfront. Check out the Store Locator on our website to see the closest location to pick up your Cookin’ Greens and get started on one of our many fabulous recipes from our recipe section!

Campaign #7 – August 23, 2009
Union Station & Rogers Centre

So this is it! The final campaign for the Cookin’ Greens Summer Street Team. We started at Union Station and the hustle and bustle of Front Street and made our way to the Rogers Centre. It was family day there and the excitement level was high. There were many parents, children and families that took a strong liking to our greens. We were even able to get on tape kids saying they actually liked our vegetables and that they would actually eat them (gasp!). We then took the party over to Fresh and Wild and Sobeys and talked to consumers there to see their take on the world of greens. Check out our store locator on this website to see where the easiest place to pick up Cookin’ Greens in your area. Thanks to everyone who participated with our street team and made this summer all that it was! Now go ahead and get your green on!
Campaign #8 – September 12, 2009
Toronto International Film Festival

The Cookin' Greens Summer Street Team put on its sunglasses and strutted its stuff across the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival. We really got to see the international flavour that the GTA has to offer. Although, it seemed like ‘Yum!’ is the same in every language as people enjoyed our couscous salad made with our Chopped Kale. We started off at Yonge & Dundas Square for the TIFF Kids Program. We then made our way to Sobeys Express at Yonge & Wellesley and shot a short segment there. We then rubbed elbows with the social elite of Toronto again in Yorkville. We thank everyone for their support throughout the Summer Street Team Launch Campaign. Check out our upcoming events page to see what we’re up to next. Keep it Green!
